“Kilimanjaro: I couldn’t recommend African scenic safari more. Let’s start with the hike. Our guide, Joel, and assistant guides Emmanuel and PG, looked out for us, pushed us, supported us, kept us safe, kept us entertained, and taught us about the mountain. Our chef, alibati, kept us well fed with delicious food, even accommodating a vegetarian and a garlic and onion allergy. We couldn’t have done it without all our porters who carried our stuff, set up/took down camp, and ran ahead to get us the best camp sites (quiet and secluded, and more importantly away from the smelly bathrooms). Summit night was the hardest but it was our guides that got us through it, kept us motivated, reminded us to eat/drink, and carried our gear when needed. Some of the porters welcomed us about 2/3 way to assist us if needed and the rest met us at camp with a warm welcome and congratulations. Our team became our family and I can’t thank them enough for the amazing experience we had. I’d recommend them to anyone! The safari was also great! Our guide was Julius and he had an eagle eye. He could spot the animals far away without his binoculars. We saw almost every animal (except the rhino, but Julius tried so hard for us). The roads are very bumpy and the driving can get crazy but Julius kept us safe. Our accommodations were very cool with luxurious camp “tents”, much better than sleeping on a hard, cold floor. We loved being in the park among the animals and even saw animals around our camps. The food, including box lunches during drive days, was great and plentiful with lots of options. Again, I would recommend this company for a safari as well! Thank you African scenic safaris for making all my hiking and safari dreams come true! I hope to be back one day!”

Our guide, Jackson was personable and generous in sharing insights into Tanzanian society and culture, making the experience rich and meaningful beyond the wildlife. He was knowledgeable and safety-focused, and he offered detailed information about the animals we encountered. Jackson found us great viewing angles while remaining on the road and not disturbing the wildlife. At sightings, other vehicles kept their distance from the animals when we arrived (which is sometimes not the case), a clear reflection the company’s impact in the industry. The accommodation selected for us was wonderful, with welcoming staff, comfortable facilities, quality service, and great food. The various locations provided memorable moments, including hearing lions roaring and elephants shuffle by our tents in the night. Jackson provided guidance throughout our 9-day trip in the parks and reserves and communities . Visits to Moshi, Osiligilai Lodge, and Stone Town added variety and depth to the trip and Nembris provided coordination with local guides. These local guides not only are authentic and knowledgeable, and willing to share information about their homes, but it was also good to know the money stays closer to the communities we visited. We wholeheartedly recommend African Scenic Safaris.”
