Top quality throughout with all Roof of Africa staff that we had with our trip. This is a bit of an essay that probably reads more like a travel blog, so apologies for that and strap in. The fun started with Thabo picking us up from King Shaka airport and taking us to Durban via some beautiful beaches. Thabo was very open, jovial, friendly, and knowledgeable about Durban and took us on some amazing experiences. His ability to arrange for us to see the Big 5 earlier than expected in our Africa trip was a surprise, and the museum, botanical gardens, and bunny chow were great. After a fun day with Thabo, we were looking forward to the next day. We were collected early from the hotel by Kyran and had a lovely few hours drive to Underberg sharing experiences and cultures of each other’s countries and backgrounds. The drive included a brief stop at Rox for the best coffee we’ve had in Africa. At Underberg we were greeted by Mondli (Mo) who we have to say it was the utmost privilege to be with for the next 4 days (3 nights) in Lesotho. We really cannot speak highly enough of Mo, who is one of the most genuine, down to Earth, accommodating people you could ever hope to meet. Mo was incredibly knowledgeable about a range of subjects and had a real desire to share with us, and to learn about us in return. His knowledge of South Africa and Lesotho was only exceeded by his knowledge of wildlife - especially birds. Mo introduced us to so many species of birds in South Africa and Lesotho, and his excitement at seeing species like the rock jumper, the bearded vulture, and the secretary bird (all in different areas) was infectious. It was also rather a thrill seeing roadside baboons, rock hyrax, and even a rhebok from the mammal kingdom. After the best part of four days going around various areas of The Mountain Kingdom with Mo and learning so much about one of the most beautiful countries on the planet, and the stunning surrounds, we got rather misty eyed when it was time to say goodbye to Mo (an absolute treasure) back in Underberg where we met up with Karyn again for a drive with conversation flowing to the hotel in Durban - with the obligatory coffee stop at Rox. We sign off from King Shaka waiting for our flight back to Johannesburg having had the pleasure of a final 20 minute drive with Karyn. Again, all guides have been amazing and are a total credit to Roof of Africa, with a huge special shoutout to Mondli, and we look forward to when we can next visit and hope to have more great times with Thabo, Kyran, and especially Mondli

We enjoyed our tour up Sani Pass thoroughly! Aldo was fantastic. His calmness and wealth of information and willingness to be flexible was invaluable. The road was in a bad condition but he made it seem effortless. The place and the trip was brilliant but Aldo made it special. Thank you 😊
