The one-stop tour agent you need for your South Africa trip Review of Southern African Tours Pending review Shout out to Bianca and Craig for the great honeymoon trip they put together for us in South Africa! We got to see not only the postcard wildlife in Kruger National Park, but also the beauty of Cape Town and Kalk Bay. They made sure that we were taken good care of by the best local guides. Needless to say, Kruger and Cape Town were as great as one could expect, if not more. Kalk Bay was absolutely a good surprise. It's not as well known as the other two spots, but I can easily spend another week just in Kalk Bay to chill, for the outstanding place we stayed, the charming laid-back vibe, the harmony between humans and wildlife, and the yummy food. If you're looking for a travel company that delivers exceptional service and unforgettable memories, Southern African Tours is the way to go.

I rarely write reviews and have never written a negative one, but this experience went far beyond inconvenient. Our group of 12 worked with travel agents Craig and Bianca at South African Tours to plan a week-long trip through Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, and Cape Town. We ultimately lost about $56,000 USD (over 900,000 Rand) on a trip that did not go as planned. To safeguard your money and peace of mind, I would strongly urge caution before booking with this agency. We spent more than a year planning the trip, confirming accommodations, transportation, and excursions months in advance. Final payment was made in July for our September departure. In the weeks leading up to the trip, we repeatedly asked for finalized confirmations but received delays and limited communication. Despite this, we trusted that everything was arranged since friends had previously traveled with the same agents. Our first hotel check-in in Johannesburg went smoothly, but the rest of the trip quickly unraveled. When we asked for our next flight details, Bianca became unreachable, and Craig later informed us she had been hospitalized. We were concerned for her wellbeing and initially sympathetic, but we still needed basic booking information. Craig reassured us that everything was handled, yet could not provide flight confirmations. When we contacted the airlines directly, we learned there were no tickets booked in our names. Although we had fully paid in advance, we discovered that many reservations were missing or unpaid. At our Kruger hotel, staff confirmed rooms were reserved but not paid for, and the booking had been made only the night before our arrival. With no response from either agent, we paid again out of pocket to continue our itinerary. The remaining hotels and domestic flights were also unbooked, leaving us to reorganize our trip last-minute at a higher cost for lower quality accommodations. During this time, a friend reached out to the agency as a prospective client and received immediate replies, which made us feel ignored and deeply disappointed. What should have been a bucket list trip became an exhausting and stressful ordeal spent troubleshooting and repaying for services we believed were already secured. Based on our experience, I would not book with this agency again. If you choose to do so, please verify reservations directly with hotels, airlines, and tour providers, and keep detailed records of all payments and communications to protect yourself.
